Alamy to launch 24/7 news feed service in May 2010

Alamy
Alamy will be launching a 24/7 news feed that will go live in May. The images will cover breaking news and events from Alamy’s international network of editorial photographers. It will launch as a beta version while they finalise designs for a major product release later in the year.

Alamy have been recruiting photo journalists in the build-up for the launch, and interested photographers wishing to join the scheme can apply online via the link in "My Alamy" under the "Additional Revenue Opportunities" heading. Successful applicants will be given an additional upload route for news/reportage or archival imagery.

Alamy's news feed represents a ray of hope for photo journalists who are facing a reduction in the number of outlets available to them at this time of continuing industry consolidation. Alamy does business with all the major news media organisations and this new service strengthens their commitment to provide everything for the picture buyer.
