San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 2013
123RF.com, the renowned global Royalty-Free microstock content provider of over 22 million high-quality creative works, today launched its much anticipated On-The-Go Android App. Designed for Android smartphone users, this newly launched microstock photography app enables one to easily snap, tag, upload and monetize their mobile shots onto 123RF.com
Following the success of previously launched 123RF On-The-Go iPhone App on June 20, 2013, 123RF is now aiming to tap into the fast booming Android smartphone market. To date, there has been more than 80,000 installations for the 123RF On-The-Go mobile app for the Apple iPhone. This is clearly a testament that an increasing number of people choose to take photos with their mobile phones as today’s smartphone cameras are just about as apt in getting the job done and is significantly more accessible compared to conventional cameras.
"As a reputable microstock content provider with over 4 million registered members worldwide, we are constantly seeking new content contributors to inject even more variety and freshness into our content library. The newly launched 123RF On-The-Go Android app is an invaluable platform and opportunity for Android smartphone users to capture and upload their best shots, and in return, benefit monetarily from them. We’re pretty excited with the possibilities as the phone cameras are excellent tools that help to drive citizen journalism. What’s more, editorial shots can be uploaded almost instantaneously as and when the event unfolds," says Alex P’ng, Product Manager of 123RF.com.
The 123RF On-The-Go App also has a built-in competition engine. Smartphone users are tasked with snapping photos that relate to a weekly theme. The best and most creative entry will receive US$300. 123RF has to date, given away US$4,500 in prize money to 15 winners worldwide.
Users of the 123RF On-The-Go Android app can choose to upload photos that are larger than 5 megapixels either from the Android Smartphone’s Gallery or live photos using the in-app camera function. 123RF Content Acquisitions policy stipulates that photos should be sharp, well composed, adequately lit, described and keyworded accurately to be accepted and sold on 123RF.com under a Royalty-Free license for commercial or editorial use.
