The following release originally appeared on PR Newswire's Brazilian Newsline under the Portuguese headline "Shutterstock lança site para colaboradores em português do Brasil."
New York – August 21, 2014 – Shutterstock, Inc. (NYSE: SSTK), a leading global provider of commercial digital imagery and music, today announced the translation of its contributor website into Brazilian Portuguese. The addition signifies the importance of the Brazilian market to the company, which has a network of more than 60,000 contributing artists around the world, hundreds of which are in Brazil.
“Shutterstock contributors from over 100 countries can attest to the power of our marketplace,” said Scott Braut, Shutterstock’s Vice President of Content. “The addition of Brazilian Portuguese to our contributor site will allow us to engage new contributors and bring in exciting content that offers a local, unique perspective from one of the world’s most creative countries.”
Since 2013, Brazilian contributors have added over 50,000 images to Shutterstock’s collection. Beto Chagas, a Saõ Paulo-based contributor, is among the country’s top stock photographers and has a portfolio of more than 6,700 images. In regard to the language addition, he stated: “For Brazilian contributors like myself, the new site translation will allow for an easier submission process and a streamlined workflow. It is wonderful to see Shutterstock engaging with Brazilian artists in this way.”
To commemorate the announcement, Shutterstock has compiled a video reel that showcases the people, energy and stunning landscapes of Brazil. Additional creative content can be found on Shutterstock’s Portuguese-language blog.
