Julie McMahon, Historical Researcher of the Year 2010 who works at the The Folio Society says: “We sorely need contact with our sources these days especially with work so internet-based. The focus of the event is really important to us.”

Picture users from all fields and arenas are encouraged to make best use of this one-day opportunity by making appointments directly with any/all the participating picture libraries. This is a perfect opportunity for networking with these picture libraries - which have the edge on independent, definitive imagery. Rights-Managed and Royalty Free stock agencies are there to explore themes and ideas and do deals.

Organiser Flora Smith of TopFoto says: “From all the billions of images out there, designers and Art Directors need to get quickly to the best, the ones that really stand out. We are thrilled that there is such demand since we initially trailed our event, and the publishing world has been hugely supportive – proving that people need face-to-face more than ever, to get the right deals done and find the best.”

The fotofringe venue is the major award-winning Kings Place, London’s new flagship for music and arts.  Just 150 metres from the new Kings Cross/St Pancras stations this wonderful building has the light and airy BattleBridge room (with its own terrace, overlooking canal boats) which links smoothly to the impressive Hall 2, and St Pancras and Horsfall rooms just beneath. Linking each space is an excellent cafĂ© (very good coffee) with takeaway and there is free wifi throughout.

fotofringe is a first-time event, created, managed and hosted by TopFoto.co.uk and it is structured around the key people and the key information. A directory of all participating picture libraries will be provided for visitors.
